The American School Food Service Association recently recognized checkoff-funded beef industry efforts by awarding a first place prize for a beef booth sponsored at its annual conference held July 13-15 in New Orleans. While the beef industry has been an active exhibitor at the association’s conference for more than 20 years, taking the top booth prize helped further increase beef’s visibility with the school food service community.

Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church on Route 522 invites everyone especially teenagers to come to a concert to raise money for the fight against World Hunger on Oct. 31 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Almost Out, a local Christian Rock band will be playing some praise music, some Christian Rock music, some original songs, and some popular Contemporary Christian music. There will be a gospel piano solo for the offertory. There will be -an opportunity to learn the new swing song by the W’s called “The Devil is Bad.” There will be something for everyone.

A 15 minute video about world hunger will be shown so that all may know how the money can help. All money collected will go to purchase food items only. No money will pay for administrative or event costs.
