I would like to recognize a young woman in our community. This is a selfless person who has worked for hours doing the “behind the scenes” research and displays. She has spent countless hours in court houses, cemeteries and archives researching our beloved Woodville. She has found the names, dates, careers, deaths, marriages and births of our forefathers. She is a quiet, gentle and diligent spirit among us. So, to my dear friend, Misty Hitt, on behalf of all of us who take your hard work for granted, and for those of us who never knew who was responsible for the volumes of research you have done, I say thank you!

Girls need

support

I am the coach of Girl’s

Basketball at Rappahannock County High School and I am very concerned about the support that the community gives to girls’ sports at the school. When there is a boys’ basketball game the gym is almost full. When the girls play we are about 3/4 of the way full. The girls work just as hard as the boys and they deserve some attention too. I also think that the coverage in the paper on the games is not up to par.
