The students have worked at local businesses such as the Country Cafe, Child Care and Learning Center and the Clerk’s office to raise funds and as part of their business class. They have raised $5,500 and need to raise $2,500 more, which they say is no problem. Each student will also pay $200 and each chaperone $400. There will be one chaperone for each student on the trip.
The board told the group it would look over the proposal and package and give them an answer by next month’s meeting. Board members Bryant Lee and Aline Johnson said the request has their full support. Tole added that the group should continue its fundraising activities.
