Scholastic book

fair planned

Rappahannock County Elementary School library will host a scholastic book fair from Tuesday, Oct. 20 through Wednesday, Oct. 28. The fair will be open from 8:15 a.m. until 4 p.m. on school days, with additional hours on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. during the parent conference time.

This event encourages young readers by bringing them the newest titles from more than 150 publishers. When you visit the book fair, look for the classroom wish lists posted for each classroom. Teachers choose books they feel will be informative and stimulating and list them on a wish list for their classrooms. Those lists are then posted at the book fair. This gives family members an opportunity to purchase and donate a book to a classroom library which is acknowledged by a bookplate with their name in each book they contribute.
