Waddell’s customers — and all car lovers — can see and be seen at Waddell’s Rod Run, now in its 12th year. The show has grown from 40 cars in its first year to about J.80 this summer. Proceeds benefit The Plains Community League and the county’s DARE program.

Dan Kachur has been running a one-man operation at Old Town Auto Body for eight years. He specializes in doing body work and paint jobs and the bulk of his business is in old cars.
“We’re trying to keep them looking new even if they are 20 or 30 years old,” Kachur said.
He said some folks want their dream machines completely restored, with every nut and bolt original. Kachur goes to flea markets to find original equipment manufacturer parts.
