With Halloween approaching, promising to provide a night filled with fun and laughter, Rappahannock Sheriff Gary Settle and his staff remind all trick-or-treaters to think safety.
In an effort to make this Halloween a safe and enjoyable one for everyone, the sheriff’s office recommends the following Halloween Safety Tips:
Costume safety:
• Use make-up or face paint instead of masks, but if masks are used, make sure that they fit properly and have holes large enough for mouth and eyes.
• Choose costumes that are marked flame retardant.
• Wear light-colored clothing at night, short enough to prevent tripping. Add reflective tape or reflectors to dark-colored costumes and to trick-ortreat bags.
