Tabor has conducted a workshop on basic car care and mechanics for the Fauquier Business and Professional Women at his garage and more are planned for the fiiture.

Being informed about the basics of car care is also the first line of defense endorsed by Phyllis Grogg and Debbie Atkins.. Between them, Grogg and Atkins have more than 15 years of experience as auto part specialists with the Warrenton NAPA.

Grogg and Atkins both feel a lot of female customers at NAPA seek them out for help over some of their male coworkers. “We spend time with them and we’re patient,” said Atkins.

Grogg agreed and said, “We help them as much as we can and try to tell them things about their cars.” But according to both Grogg and Atkins there is no substitute for being educated.

“A lot of women end up paying for extras because they don’t know enough about their cars,” said Atkins.
