An apparent dispute over money resulted in the shooting death of a Boston, Va. man early on the evening of March 3 at a home near Scrabble.
According to Rappahannock Sheriff Larry Sherertz, Joseph Johnson, 41, has been charged in the shooting death of Willie Steve Nichols Jr., 28, of Boston.
The incident took place in the front yard of Johnson’s residence in the 5300 block of Route 522, near the intersection of Route 604 near the Rappahannock-Culpeper county line.
The tense situation at the scene lasted until 1 a.m. Thursday, when Johnson was finally coaxed from the house and taken into custody.
