will teach pastel techniques as the students create “pet portraits.” Children are encouraged to bring close-up photos of their pet or an animal with which they are familiar.
• The magazine drive ended on March 1. Each year it is a major fundraiser for RCES and the support from the community is always greatly appreciated. Mrs. Saxton’s fourth grade class won for the most magazines sold. Her class will be rewarded with a pizza party.
The top three winners in the school were: first place, Katherine Crawford, fourth grade with $659.47; second place, Lucas Wilson, fourth grade with $465.76 and third place, Kevin Martin, fifth grade with $459.89 Congratulations to everyone!
• The “World of Music” concert on March 4 was a huge success. The combined efforts of the bands and choruses from both schools made for a very entertaining evening. The quality of our student performances is quiet good. Please treat yourselves to the next one!
•As part of the Marine Dissection Lab that will be visiting RCES on March 10, seventh graders will be dissecting sharks! Incredible!
