We walked across the yard, opened the small gate to the driveway, and stepped down to go to the car. At this point, we heard a “lions roar” at the bottom of the driveway, about four or five car lengths away.
I do not recall if we walked back through the gate or if all of us hopped the fence. I do know we made it to the back door of the house in record time.
We went to the window to listen and see if we could figure out where it was, or find out if it was still out there.
Whatever it was, we could hear it walking the fence row along the Fodderstack Road towards town. It was still growling, but not as loud as before.
