hummingbird removes herself to a chosen nest site,, builds the nest, lays two peasized eggs, incubates and raises the young — all by herself. If a male ventures into her territory he is savagely attacked and driven away.
This proves there is much more to feeding birds; than identifying them. Such variety in behavior is enticing for the bird watcher. Much of delight can be gained from observing courtship behavior.
Maybe new insights into human conduct will result. Notice how the antics and strutting of a teen age boy to gain the attention of a young lady is the same behavior he uses to impress and intimidate a rival.
