Committee formed
The recently-formed Rappahannock News Citizens Advisory Committee held its first meeting March 6 at the Rappahannock County Library.
Present were Bill Fletcher, Martin Woodard, Elizabeth - Hillscher, Bill Dietl, Hunt Harris, Jim Gannon, Stu Willis . and Katie Fisken. Representing the Rappahannock News were Arthur W. Arundel, publisher; Barbara Wayland, executive editor; and John Toler, vice president.
A variety of issues were discussed at the hour-long meeting, including the county’s changing demographics, treatment of regional and state news, developing news . sources, and working with community correspondents. I
At the conclusion of the meeting, Arundel thanked the members of the committee, adding, “I am proud for the Rappahannock News to be part of a community committed to doing its best, and we will do our level best to honor the newspaper’s role in this.”
Several of the suggestions for change made at the ^ meeting will be implemented over the next month. The next meeting of the advisory board will be scheduled to take place in June. '
