Shimmering Meadows Farm Studio located in Boston is pleased to announce it will sponsor a workshop in Colored Pencil Basics to be held on April 17-18.
Kitty Dodd, illustrator, art instructor, and fine arts artist will instruct this two day workshop. The workshop is designed to expose the beginning, intermediate, and advanced color pencil artist to the range of effects and techniques that can be achieved with colored pencils. Topics such as how to render textures as well as the translucency of leaves and defined patterns in tree bark will be demonstrated and discussed.
Objectives for the workshop include: exposure to color pencil artwork from around the world through study of other artist’s works, instruction in colored pencil techniques, study of composition and design while incorporating learned techniques, interpretation of photographic reference photos with creative vision, and methods for recording color palette as artwork progresses.
