In the Jackson District, there was a surprise for the School Board election. Rebecca Cordani won over Ronald Makela, 195-173. Kim Breeden, a write-in candidate for School Board, received an impressive 136 votes.
In the race for House of Delegates, 31st District, many felt Meredith Gorfein did not have a chance against Jay Katzen. She did lose, but received an admirable 915 votes to his 1588.
