Middle Street

Gallery presents

Arcadia #32

It has been nearly two years since Steven Kenny’s last show at the Middle Street Gallery which consisted of highly detailed and colorful oil paintings of imaginary figures in surreal landscapes. In this new show of recent work he delves even more deeply into the natural world to investigate the inherent bond between ourselves and the complex ecosystem we are part of. He brings together - and actually merges - landscape, the human figure, animals, and plants. All the paintings are rendered in Mr. Kenny’s meticulously detailed style. Individual birds, flowers and other elements are easily identifiable. The various components of the paintings not only share the same space but to varying degrees each other’s characteristics as well. The exhibition is on view from Nov. 5 through Nov. 28. An artist’s reception will be held on Sunday, Nov. -7 from 2 to 6 p.m. The Middle Street Gallery is open Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is located in Washington.
