Benefit dinner planned
The Amissville Fire and Rescue Company will sponsor a ham and turkey benefit dinner on Saturday, Nov. 13 at the Amissville fire hall. All proceeds will benefit the company. The meal will include ham, turkey, veggies, breads, applesauce, drinks and desserts.
Flu shot dates announced
Rappahannock County Health Department is offering flu shots at the following times: Nov. 4 from 4 to 6 p.m.; Nov. 15 from 9 to 11 a.m. and Nov. 30 from 9 to 11 a.m. Flu shot cost is $7 for the general public. Pneumonia shots are recommended for those 65 and over and the cost is $14 for the general public. For additional information call 675-3516.
Concert at The Theatre slated
Camerata Cantores, 24 voice madrigal group directed by Helen Dill and Brass Classique, brass quartet directed by Richard Dill will be in concert on Nov. 19 at 8 p.m. at The Theatre at Washington, Va. Tickets are $10 each with seniors and students only $7 each. For ticket information call 937-4044.
Headwaters Board to meet
The November board of directors meeting for Headwaters, the Rappahannock County Public Education Foundation, will take place Monday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Extension Office. The meeting is open to the public.
Fall auction and party set
The Child Care and Learning Center will be sponsoring its fourth annual fall auction and party on Saturday, Nov. 13 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Washington School on Mt. Salem Avenue. Admission is $10 and includes food and libations. Many quality items, including antiques, collectibles, and art will be auctioned live, while others will be for sale at set prices and some items will be in a silent auction. Do not miss this elegant evening that benefits the local charity for children.
4-H Pickin ’ Party scheduled
There will be a 4-H Pickin’ Party at the Sperryville fire hall on Friday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. 4-H volunteers will be selling barbecue dinner platters and having a 50/50 raffle as a fund raiser for 4-H. There is no charge for admittance. There will be absolutely no alcohol permitted on the property and no smoking in the building. Everyone is welcome to come and bring his or her voice or instrument and join in the fun! For more information call the Extension Office at 675-3619.

The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. at its Bradford Road Office in Culpeper.
