Nichols were keeping on Johnson’s property. The trailer was originally placed on Johnson’s property because the Nichols did not have enough room for the trailer on their property.
The mare was kept in the trailer to keep her away from the fenced-in area where the male horses were stabled. The mare had gone blind in one eye, and the Nichols were planning on selling the horse at auction on Sat. March 6.
