Two additional experiences will also be available to the RCES students for further broaden students perspectives on music making, sculpture and theater.
On Oct. 12, the Gourd Orchestra from Richmond gave performances for all the students at RCES and lead a workshop on making gourd rattles or the “calabash.”
On Dec. 10, Richmond visual artist and musician, Danny Finney, will lead workshops on his “zany and animated” rattle making process that uses discarded soda cans, twigs and paper mache to create these colorful figures that double as rattles and sculptures.
