Martha Jane Smoot, 74, of Flint Hill died Tuesday, Oct. 27 in the Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal.
Mrs. Smoot was bom July 4, 1925 in Rappahannock.
She was predeceased by her parents, John Welsey and Lilly Bell James Smoot.,
Survivors include two sons, James Robert Smoot and Carlyle Lee Smoot Sr., both of Flint Hill; one daughter, Shirley McCloud of Flint Hill and seven grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at the Orlean Cemetery in Orlean on Monday, Nov. 1 with the Rev. Jennings W. Hobson officiating.
Pallbearers were Clarence Lee Walters Jr., Jack Leroy Redmon, George Knave, Danny Lee Wheeling Jr., Joseph Smoot and Silas Foster.
Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal was in charge of the arrangements.
Maijorie Butler
Culpeper resident
Marjorie Marie Gray Butler, 60, of Culpeper died Sunday, Oct. 31 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
She was bom Nov. 22, 1938 in Jefferson ton to Robert Gray and Icy Lawson Gray.
Mrs. Butler was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 45 years, William “Norman” Butler of Culpeper; three daughters, Norma Jane Tibbs of Fredericksburg, Betty Marie Butler Carter of Washington and Sabrina A. Butler of Culpeper and three sons, William Ricky Butler of
