An era in education comes to an end in Rappahannock County Saturday with the sale of the old Sperryville and Washington school buildings. A photograph featured the original building which was four rooms and housed seven grades and two years of high school. All elementary students were consolidated to one new 30-room building last year, so the old structures will be sold at public auction. Col. Evan A. McNear of Greenwood Farm, Washington has been recognized as the 1969 Outstanding Conservation Farmer of the Year in Rappahannock County. The announcement was made last Wednesday evening at the annual awards dinner of the Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District held at Graves Lodge, Syria. Mrs. Isaac L. Parrish, active Rappahannock Community worker and mother, has again been named Christmas Seal Campaign Chairman for Rappahannock County by the Board of the Tuberculosis and Health Association of Northern Virginia.
