I Timbers Bailey welcomed a small band of local Democrats to her home in Washington, who bestowed on her a plaque honoring her for her many years of devoted service as Treasurer of the Rappahannock County Democratic Committee (RCDC).
The plaque had been reviewed and enthusiastically approved by the RCDC on Jan. 4, its first meeting of the new millennium, but was not then presented to Mrs. Bailey since she was ill and unable to attend the meeting.
The plaque, wrapped appropriately in a red ribbon, reads as follows:
“'With Love and Gratitude for Her Loyalty and Dedication Ethel Timbers Bailey has been unanimously I elected Treasurer Emerita of the Rappahannock County Democratic Committee January 4, 2000”
