Some basic painting has helped to reveal his notion that the Tower of Babel became towers, representing a variety of cultures, Mayan, Greek, Romanesque, Islam, Medieval Europe, Colonial America, and Twentieth Century Sky-pointing office buildings.
The original Genesis story of the Tbwer 6f Babel claims that the builders wanted to build to heaven as a united people, but the Lord wanted to frustrate this ambition and “confounded their language”, to separate them, and the tower was abandoned. Kenny sees the tower as the attempt of unrelated people to combine in an effort to celebrate architecture as evidence of many cultures from the past and the present. This work of art promises to be beautiful and thought-provoking. What will next week reveal?
