This past weekend, tragedy struck a prominent Amissville couple in Central America.
Adm. Stansfield Turner (U.S.N., retj, 75, was critically injured and his wife, Eli Karin Turner, 60, killed in an aircraft accident in Costa Rica on Saturday, Jan. 15.
According to published reports, Adm. and Mrs. Turner were passengers aboard a Taxi Aero Centroamericano plane that had just taken off from San Jose, en route to the Tortuero National Park on Costa Rica’s Atlantic coast.
The plane, a Czech-build LET 410, slammed into a house in a neighborhood near
Tobias Bolanos airport, causing minor injuries to one person on the ground.
