Oh! I am so sad! The Redskins were almost there. Oh well! Maybe next year. I know we are going to be cheering for St. Louis.
The Amissville Area Community Association met on Thursday and new officers were elected. They are as follows; Steve Miller, Chairman; Rick Kohler, Vice-Chairman; Hal Hunter, Secretary; Margaret Strauser, Treasurer; and . Glen Hoffher, Parliamentarian.
There are also, several committees and projects that have spaces left for volunteers. For example, Civil War markers for Amissville; a “Welcome to Amissville”; a Fall Festival for all the area groups, and of course, the Post Office. Which by the way, is supposed to be ready by October of this year. I hope so, the girls and guys at the post office were way overwhelmed with the Christmas Season this year.
If you would like to be involved in any of these activities or have any ideas on anything else, come to the next meeting on Feb 10 at 7 p.m. at the Amissville United Methodist Church. The meetings are always on the second Thursday.
Our sincere congratulations to Stephanie Hitt and Dean Massey on their marriage Saturday, Jan. 15. We wish them every happiness.
