He teaches at the Amsterdam Sweelinck Conservatory and the Oberlin Baroque Performance Institute, and appears regularly in Holland, Germany, France, and North America.
Kenneth Slowik, artistic director of the Smithsonian Chamber Music Society, will play a beautifully-crafted copy of a ca. 1725 Viennese forte piano made by Rod Regier of Freeport, Maine for this concert. Slowik, well known to audiences in Little Washington for his many appearances as cellist, harpsichordist, and viola da gamba player, established his international reputation for work with ensembles including the Smithsonian Chamber Players, Castle Trio, Smithson String Quartet and Axelrod String Quartet.
Now spending more time conducting the orchestral and oratorio repertoire, he is artistic director of the Baroque Performance Institute at the Oberlin College conservatory, and is the conductor of the Santa Fe Bach Festival.
