Sperryville committee sets meeting

Band Booster meeting set

The Rappahannock County Band Boosters will meet Thursday, Jan. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock Elementary School. Everyone is invited. For information call John Wiese at 937-9909.

Representative to visit county

Mrs. Donna Crowley, a representative of Congressman Frank Wolf, will visit the town of Washington on Jan. 20.

Mrs. Crowley will be available to talk with constituents who need assistance or have problems of a federal nature, such as with the Social Security Administration, Department of Labor, Immigration and Naturalization Service, Internal Revenue Service, Department of Veterans Affairs, etc.

Ms. Crowley will be at the Rappahannock County Extension Office from 2 to 3 p.m. Constituents who want to make direct contact with the Winchester office may call Mrs. Crowley at 540667-0990 or visit the office at 110 North Cameron Street.

Valentine's dinner planned

Enjoy a fabulous evening with great food and a relaxing atmosphere on Saturday, Feb. 12. The Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad Auxiliary is sponsoring its third annual Valentine’s dinner at the Rappahannock Elementary School. Come early, stay late. Enjoy home style cooking.

The meal consist of half-barbecue or baked barbecue chicken with wild rice, mashed potatoes, peas, homemade rolls and desserts. Prices are $8.50 for adults; $15 for couples and children under eight years of age will pay only $4. The meal will be prepared by Pat Jenkins and Company. For advanced tickets or information call Nancy at 987-8495 or Peggy at 987-8277. Carry outs will be available. “Treat that special someone to a wonderful evening,” said an organizer.

Karate classes underway

Shorin-Ryu Okinawan karate classes are currently underway at Ki Theatre in Washington.
