The committee administering the Mary Beth Williams Memorial Fund will host its annual fundraiser and dinner this spring. The event is tentatively set for May 27 at 5 p.m. at a location to be announced.
Mary Beth Williams was tragically killed in an automobile accident on Route 729 on May 14, 1997. Randall S. Updike, the chairman of the Mary Beth Williams Memorial Fund, notes that Mary Beth was a “vibrant, personable teenager with a longstanding interest in agriculture.”
With Mary Beth’s legacy in mind, a memorial hind was established for the purpose of funding scholarships for higher education, camp attendance and other activities for the youth of Rappahannock County.
