In other news, the Rappahannock Hunt’s annual meeting was held at the Rappahannock County Library on April 5. After concluding the business session, elections were held for the Master(s), Officers and Board of Directors.
For the first time in over 20 years, Larry LeHew, MFH, did not run for reelection. LeHew of Front Royal, was elected Joint Master of Foxhounds along with J.A.Bemard Dahlgren of Flint Hill, in 1980. They shared that position until Dahlgren’s untimely death in a car accident in 1985. LeHew served alone until 1999 when LeHew and Oliver Brown of Reva were elected as Joint Masters.
Officers for 2000-2001 are: Oliver L. Brown, MFH; David Ingram, President; Augustus Edwards III, Vice-President; Barton Hitchcock, Honorary Secretary; and Virginia McCarty, Treasurer.
Elected to the Board of Directors were: Judge Douglas Ginsburg, Mary Melville Lewis, Linda Brown, John Leary, Deborah Baker and Janet Payne O’Keefe.
