The Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office is investigating three thefts of property that have occurred in the county over the past 10 days.
On May 1, it was reported that materials at a building site off Horton Hollow Road near Castleton had been stolen, and that a folding table on the site had been destroyed.
Missing are two window Units, valued at $80 each, and a roll of electrical wire, valued at $30.
Dep. Anthony Berry is investigating the incident.
A power push lawn mower was reported stolen from the yard of a residence in the 500 block of Woodward Road near Sperryville.

to offer
scholarship
The Rappahannock County Garden Club will once again offer the Francis J. Leonard Memorial Scholarship to a ^senior in Rappahannock -County for the purpose of continuing his or her education.
A grant of $1500 will be awarded to a student enrolling in a four year college or university. $1,000 will be given the first year and $500 in the second year.
An applicant must be a resident of Rappahannock County, a member of this year’s graduating class (home -schooled or other schools), be accepted at an accredited four year school, have a need for financial assistance and be recommended by three nonrelative residents of Rappahannock County.
Applications for the grant are available at the guidance department of the Rappahannock County High School or from Mrs. Irwin R. Kilby, 987-8741.
The deadline for returning the applications is May 22.
