The J.V. Girls Softball Team continues to rack up victories, as they roll through the Bull Run District. On Monday, the Panthers hosted the George Mason Mustangs. Rapp would be the visiting team this time around because the Mustang fields are under construction and they have to play all their games away this season.
The Panthers took advantage of having the first at bat, scoring five runs in the first. Lara Kreyling threw the first two innings for the Panthers, allowing no runs, five strike outs and two walks. Molly Burke came on in the third, striking out three, giving up only one hit and allowing no walks. Brittany Thornhill came on in the fifth and struck out two, with no walks and allowing only one hit.
While the pitchers were doing a great job on the mound, the ladies also did a great job at the plate. Rapp won the game 19-0. “This was a good win for the team, everyone got to play a lot and had a lot of fun as well.”
The Panthers hosted the Strasburg Rams on Friday. “We were wondering if we were going to get this game in, after a huge storm hit about an hour before game time,” said Coach Jenkins. The Panthers did get the game in and defeated the Rams 3-0.
Brittany Thornhill pitched a complete game and only allowed one hit, she also had four strike outs and no walks. Rapp had a great defensive game, Ashleigh Burke had 10 putouts at second base, Ryisha Cook and Jamie Deal made some outstanding plays in the outfield. Ashley Clinedinst had a great game behind the
