Abner Theodore Russell, 88, of Huntly died Thursday, May 4 at his residence.
Mr. Russell was bom May 13, 1911 in Huntly, to the late Rosa Lee Nickens Russell and James Morris Russell.
He was the husband of the late Lelia Ann Jett Russell.
Survivors include one son, Carroll S. Russell Sr. of Front Royal and four daughters, Mary L. Frye of Huntly, Lillian “Gert” Taylor of Front Royal, Kelsey Russell and Helena Russell, both of Huntly.
Additional survivors include ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sons, Abner Russell and Arthur Russell; one daughter, Demetrice Russell; one brother, James Russell and four sisters, Kelsey Russell, Anna Russell, Rebecca Russell and Lillian Bouchlin.
Funeral services were conducted May 8 at TurnerRobertshaw Funeral Home with the Rev. Howard Frye officiating. Interment followed in Russell family cemetery.
