The Varsity Softball team hosted the George Mason Mustangs on Tuesday. This was the second meeting at home for these two teams.
Rachael Sharp took the mound for the Panthers, she struck out nine Mustangs and * only walked three. The only • run that Mason could come up with was scored on an error. Rapp won the game 4-1.
Contributing with hits for the Panthers were Austin Bouffard, Rachael Sharp, Eva Mills, Crystal Grigsby, Kate Wilson and Jessica Nawrocki. This was the second victory for the Panthers against the Mustangs.
On Friday, the team traveled to Strasburg for a night game against the Rams. The Panthers struggled a bit giving up three runs in the first inning and the Rams added seven more in the second.
The Panthers finally got on the scoreboard when Kelly Atkins and Crystal Grigsby singled, Rachael Sharp hit a shot to right center field to score the two runners. Strasburg won the game 17-2. The Panthers will be in action at home on Friday against Clarke County.
