In essence, The Cox Company plans to undertake its work in four phases.
The first phase involves a two to four week long Gateway Study Area Analysis. This will draw on field observations; a review of existing maps, plans, and other materials covering Main Street, the Thornton River corridor, the historic district, and contiguous privately owned land. The result is to be a qualitative assessment to identify image areas, opportunities to reinforce existing attributes, and identify where new treatments are needed to create image and characterdefining edges of the village revitalization area and along the Thornton River corridor.
The second phase, also taking two to four weeks, will involve public work sessions and work shops. The results of the Gateway Study Area Analysis will be presented to Sperryville and the county.
The third phase takes six to eight weeks. Using the results of the first two phases, The Cox Company will prepare a series of up to three corridor and land use master
