On April 19, ladies from the Madison County Garden Club and the Rappahannock County Garden Club met at the Washington Fire Hall for an annual plant exchange. It was a delightful time to learn about a wide variety of interesting and beautiful perennial plants. Besides having three door prizes, each member was able to take a plant home to grow in her own garden.
Hostesses Sally Havstad, Jo-an Getsinger and Carolyn Emerick provided the day’s refreshments.
The Horticulture and Design Exhibit judge, Frances Russell, awarded several blue ribbons.
In the Design Exhibit, Class 1) Quiet Pond and Class 2) Branching Out, Janet Eastham, Joan Batchelder, Mary Priest and Jo-an Getsinger each received a blue

Report
The Rappahannock County Building Office reports for the period running March 22 through April 21 the following permits were issued:
For the month, the office issued seven new home permits, three addition/remodel/renovation, one new shed/barn/garage and one pool house permits.
Miscellaneous permits included: two permits for decks, one vinyl siding permit, one shingle replacement permit and five renewal permits.
The Building Office also reviewed 12 sets of plans; had 169 scheduled inspections; seven walk-in consultations and five scheduled consultations.
