The Rappahannock Relay for life is this Friday. The pre-Relay activities begin with registration and campsite set-up at 5 p.m. at the elementary school. A musical prelude played by the Rappahannock County School Band will begin at 6:40 p.m. Welcome ceremonies begin at 7 p.m. The Relay itself will begin after the Survivor’s Ceremony at 7:20 p.m. with the Survivor’s Lap.
Following the Survivor’s Lap, walkers from teams continue the Relay throughout the night and other team members eryoy the activities, or sleep, or rest at their campsites. At dark, the Relay track will be lit by luminaries in honor or memory of both cancer victims and cancer survivors. Luminaries may be purchased for $5 each from Jennifer
