Mayor Willis said that he would “like to pay for this for this thing (the new reservoir) and get on with the wastewater,” suggesting that the budget for water works reserves was appropriate and would enable the Town to pay for the new reservoir, after which more funds would be set aside for a wastewater treatment system.
Treasurer Viguerie agreed with the Mayor, saying that “it’s a point of pride to say the Town doesn’t carry a big debt.”
Mr. Tompkins then objected to the Treasurer’s salary, as he did last year, and Mr. Critzer asked if she would “voluntarily quit receiving that money.”
Mrs. Viguerie said that she would not, and Mr. Critzer said that he was “not in favor of funding the Treasurer’s pay—I know that Kaye and the Mayor do most of the work—I wish you would consider . . .”
