Panther batters’ pounded the Eagle hurlers for five more runs in the bottom of the third to make it 12-5 Rapp, with four innings to go. The fourth inning hurt the Panthers as they gave up three unearned runs with two outs and let the Eagles get to within four at 128. The Clarke squad continued to scrap back in the game, adding three more runs in their half of the sixth, to make it 12-11 Rapp, with one inning to go. With two outs in the final frame and the tying run on third, the Rapp defense broke down and committed a routine error, allowing the tying Clarke runner to score and send the game into extra innings. A two-run double broke the Panthers back in the top of the 8th and the game ended with the Eagles on top 14-12.
