SENIOR: Marc Russell leaves the field dirty and dejected after tough loss to Clarke.
Seniors Mark Wharton and Marc Russell, along with sophomore Mike Weise, each collected two hits for the Panthers. Junior Jeff Ritenour had three of his own in the losing effort. The varsity squad is still on the trail of that first big win and the guys are determined to get it. They have three games left before the District Tournament begins the third week in May.
The Junior varsity traveled to Berryville to play the JV Eagles from Clarke County. They got off to a rough start, giving up nine runs in the first two innings. Managing only two hits themselves for the entire game, the JV squad was unable to get anything going offensively. After the opening shock of the first two innings, the defense settled down and played well until the game ended in the bottom of the sixth with Clarke scoring the 10th run and capturing the win 10-0. The JV squad is now four and six in the District and with two games remaining, has a good chance to finish the year with a respectable .500 record.

The track teams have finished their season and have spent this past week with the final preparations for those individual qualifiers getting ready to participate in the District Tournament on Wednesday, May 16.
Panther track athletes qualifying to compete in the District Tbumament at Brentsville are Boys: B.J.Christian, senior; Zach Ashby, Johnathan Deal, Brian Lee, Phillip Thomas, all juniors; Zach Bridgeman, D.J. Frye, Jason Gainer, Albert Dodd-Hense, sophomores and Stuart Hensley and Nathan Welch, freshmen.
Girls: Jessica Nawrocki and Amanda Weakley, juniors; Katie Welch, sophomore and Laura Maloney, Hope Jacobs, Ryisha Cook and Brittney Bradley, freshmen.
