A motion by the Board of Supervisors to forego a contribution to this year’s Fourth of July Celebration in Washington cast further doubt on whether the event will take place at all.
Ad hoc Fourth of July Committee Chair George Rosenbaum briefed the Board, at their April meeting, on the Committee s recent difficulty in identifying an organizational home for the 2002 event, and he asked for their advice, apparently hoping that the Board of Supervisors would offer to adopt the celebration.
Mr. Rosenbaum provided the Board with an update on the plans for this year's event, and he noted that the Committee and the Town of Washington "are at a standstill." He told the Board that he and other indi
