University in Richmond last week. His social studies teacher, Mr. Arthur Neufeld, also made the trip. Nathan was among the top 105 students from across the Commonwealth of Virginia who qualified to compete in the state bee semifinal. Nathan is the son of Roger and Deborah Flinchum of Viewtown.

Sperryville’s Post Office has a new person in charge. Susan Rowan was sworn in as postmaster during a ceremony Monday afternoon. She takes over from David Rosenberger, who returned to Warrenton after filling in for three months. Mrs. Rowan will lie familiar to Sperryville postal customers. Her first job in the Postal Service was serving with former postmaster Aileen Johnson from July 1984 to December 1986.

Some may remember the Rappahannock Chorus from many years ago and now there is a plan to re-form it. The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community is helping with some of the logistics of performances and advertising and Ellen Manson is the contact person.
