Chess players
invited to Library
The Rappahannock Chess Players will meet for their second meeting on Friday, April 5 at 4 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Library. Those interested are invited to “come, bring your board and pieces and spend about two hours playing your favorite game,” said an organizer.
It has still not been decided when and where regular meetings will be held, maybe this can be taken care of at this meeting. It is not necessary, but if you wish, you may contact Rev. Phillip Bailey at 6753336, Frank Warner at 987-8103, Bob Weinberg at 547-3993 or Dave Shaffer at 675-3780.
Landfill will not
accept trimmings,
brush until May
Due to the bum limit in effect (no outdoor burning before 4 p.m.) and the continuing dry conditions, the Rappahannock County Landfill is unable to accept brush, tree trimmings, or yard waste for burning at the landfill facility until May.
Booster seats
available to
county families
Piedmont United Way and the Ford Motor Company have joined together in an auto safety campaign to distribute 1,000 child booster seats to families in the following counties: Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock as a part of a program called Boost America!
If you, your child and vehicle meet the guidelines for the program, a free booster seat will be given to you for each booster-size child in your family on April 27 at the For .Child Health Fair sponsored by Wealthy Culpeper at the Culpeper j£ounty Library.
