Next week on the 9th of April 2002, Ms. Reba Lawson Dabney turns 90 and this weekend, with family she will be celebrating at the Flint Hill Public House, her former schoolhouse and the first of many structures that her father helped to construct in Flint Hill. She wants no gifts, as she never does. Her fierce independence has kept her brilliant, sharp, and agile at 90 years young. My incredible respect for her only grows as I come to know her through her homeland and first love, Flint Hill.
