school. Discovering what works best in a school is the task of everyone in that school not just a few. In this manner people are linked with a purpose, the school grows and there is learning for all.
Incentives, rewards and punishments, don’t bind people together.
Connectedness in purpose does. Participatory and shared decision making nurtures trust and collaboration. It encourages freedom and diver-, sity of thought. Most people have a desire to love their school. However, that passion can be destroyed when the school sets boundaries to keep - people out and when it becomes exclusionary and not ’ self organizing.
This is not the effective schools way.
A great deal of treasure, time and effort have been invested in the learning of the Effective Schools Process by everyone in the Rappahannock Schools. It is ' the simpler and smarter way. It is the effective schools way. It can be the Rappahannock way.
