Drama, art classes offered
Creative Spirit Drama and Art classes will begin on Thursday, April 18. Classes for children four to six will be held from 10 to 11:15 a.m.; classes for children 6-11 will be held from 4 to 5:15 p.m. (bus shuttle from elementary school) and teen classes from 6:30 to 8 p.m. For more information call Jean Elizabeth at 6751518.
Services Board to meet
The Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services Board and the Area Agency on Aging will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 9 at 1 p.m. at 15361 Bradford Road, Culpeper. Spring concer t scheduled
The Front Royal Oratorio Society announces its Spring Concert which will feature the beautiful Requiem by John Rutter. Performances will be on April 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Boggs Chapel, Randolph-Macon Academy. Front Royal and April 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the Braddock Street United Methodist Church, Winchester.
The chorus of over 50 voices from six surrounding counties is under the direction of award-winning conductor. George Amos. Among the guest artists will be John Martin, former first cellist of the National Symphony Orchestra. There is no charge for admission. Free-will donations will be accepted. In-orchard meeting set
The Rappahannock Extension Office invites the public to attend a series of in-orchard meetings scheduled from April through August. These meetings will be held in orchards located in Rappahannock and Madison. On April 17 the meeting will be held at Graves Mountain Farm at Syria. Those interested should meet at the orchard at 11 a.m. for a tour, followed by discussions. Bring a bagged lunch, drinks will be furnished and meeting should adjourn around 1 p.m. For information call Kenner Love at the Rappahannock Extension Office at 675-3619.
Spring plant sale planned
Celebrate gardening in Rappahannock! A two day plant sale is being held April 20 and April 21, at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Waterpenny Farm in Sperryville. Native plants, flowering shrubs, perennials, annuals, herbs, vegetable starts, fresh eggs, spring produce and garden art will be featured. Participating vendors include Belle Meade Farm, Blue Ridge Botanicals. Enchanter’s Garden, Leaf by leaf, Majoli. Persimmon Farm, Virginia Natives and Waterpenny Farm.
