The future of Rappahannock wrestling took a big step forward on March 23 and 24 at the Mid-Atlantic Wrestling Association District Wrestling Tournament in Culpeper. Three Rappahannock young men wrestling for the Culpeper Cobras Wrestling club advanced to the MAWA Regional Tournament to be held at the Wicomico Civic Center in Salisbury, Md. on April 13 and 14.

The South Region of the Mid-Atlantic Wrestling Association is divided into seven districts stretching from New Jersey to Virginia. The top three wrestlers from each weight division advance to the MAWA South Regional tournament. The top four finishers at Regional’s advance to the Eastern National Wrestling Tournament.
