Change, in an effective school, is a continuous process that occurs in a climate of support, trust and collaboration. It is the essence of growth and learning for all. When people in an effective school are working together, change allows them to discover and develop new skills, relationships and self worth.
In some schools, change can be rooted in fear. It is often said that teachers are innately resistant to change. But it is not the change itself being resisted but the particular process of change that has been imposed and not created by themselves and for themselves and their students.
