Lions set May o jor auction

The annual Rappahannock Lions Auction will be held on Saturday, May 4 at the Washington Fire Hall. Please start thinking about those treasures that you would like to find a new home! Workshop for contractors set

Contractors who would like to learn more about erosion and sediment control are invited to participate in a workshop taking place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9 tn Orange. It will also be an opportunity for professionals in the field to share their views on problems that they see with required E&S practices.

Offered by the Thomas Jefferson and the Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation Districts, and by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, the workshop will include such topics as how proper installation and maintenance of practices can save money, and how to convert temporary sediment basins to permanent stormwater management ponds. A spaghetti dinner will be held on Saturday, Apnl 6 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Castleton Volunteer Fire Department. The community is encouraged to support this endeavor.

Auxiliary seeks recipes

The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary is putting together a community cookbook. Sperryville. Va. 22740. The proceeds from the cookbook will go to support the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.

Clinic will be open Apiil 3

The Rappahannock Free Clinic, a local operation of the Fauquier Free Clinic Inc., is currently open on the first, third and fifth Wednesdays of each month. The clinic will be open Wednesday, April 3 and not again until Apnl 17.
