remembrance
slated for Sept 11
at Trinity Church
Washington Baptist and Trinity Episcopal churches invite the community to a service of prayer and remembrance with special music on this first anniversary.
The service will be at 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Church in Washington. A reception will precede the service at 7 p.m. “Please join us for this important moment in our common life. We especially invite all public safety workers to join us,” said organizers.

at public forum
Chairman Tom Junk will discuss the County Comprehensive Ran review process on Sept 16 from 7:30 to 8 p.m. at the Rappahannock Library. The Planning Commission initiated the review at its August meeting and intends to conduct public meetings in each District beginning in October.
The public is invited to attend, take part in the discussion and receive information about how they can be a participant in the review process during the next several months.

Headwaters
Board to meet
The September board of directors meeting for Headwaters, the Rappahannock County Public Education Foundation, will take place Monday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Extension Office. The meeting is open to the public.
Representative
to visit the Town
Mrs. Donna Crowley, a representative of Congressman Frank Wolf, will visit the town of Washington on Thursday, Sept. 19. She will be at the Rappahannock County Extension Office from 2 to 3 p.m.
Mrs. Crowley will be available to talk with constituents who need assistance or have problems of a Federal nature, such as with the Social Security Administration, Department of Labor, Immigration and Naturalization Service, Internal Revenue Service, Department of Veterans Affairs, etc.

• Friday, Sept. 6 at 8 p.m., RAAC presents the film “Monsoon Wedding” at The Theatre on Gay Street in Washington.
• Tuesday, Sept. 10 the Rappahannock School Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the Band Room at RCHS.
• Wednesday, Sept. 11 the Washington Town Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Washington Town Hall.
