Ms. Portman is offering six Life Stories workshops this fall: the Three-Day Advanced Workshop is Sept. 13-15; Introductory Three Day Workshops are scheduled for Oct. 46, Oct. 18-20 and Nov. 15-17.
There are two One Day Workshops: Oct. 27 “Writing with Images” and Nov. 24 “Interviewing and Finding the Story”. Participation for workshops is limited to 12 people.
People in all walks of life have taken Ms. Portman’s Life Stories Workshops — therapists,teachers, artists, farmers, retirees, government employees; people who write a lot and people who have never written before.
The workshops are a mix of women and men, of people who live in Rappahannock, Culpeper, Madison, Fauquier and Warren Counties. Lots of people from the greater DC area attend as well as people who travel to Washington, Va.
