Patrons of the school and all interested people are invited to an open house which will be held at the new Rappahannock County High School on Sunday, Sept. 18 from 2 to 6 p.m.
Teachers and some of the students will be there to show visitors through the building. Refreshments will be served.
The Ladies Auxiliary to the Washington Fire Company will open the rummage sale Friday, Sept. 9 in the fire house. The Olson oriental rug which will be given away in the late fall will be on display throughout the series of sales.
The News reported a series of petty thefts around the county; one in Sperryville where $5.63 in gas was taken and the other in Flint Hill, where about $30 in cash, a carton and a half of cigarettes and a white fireman’s shirt were taken.
The annual ASC County election will be held by mail in Rappahannock this year. The County election Board made up of W.H. Lyne, Chairman, L.B. Henretty, Soil Conservation Service, General Daniel Noce, Farm Bureau President and Raymond M. Johnson, FHA Representative, selected three farmers and two alternates from each of the five communities to act as Community Election Board.
